This is the my sage in the garden this year. I planted it from seeds the spring before, it wintered in the house and when I planted it outside it took off. It was so huge at the end of the summer that I had to leave it out there. I hope it winters well and that I will have it again this year. I wanted to post this ages a go, but just found this picture.
Sage is a perfect with turkey and chicken and very important when making dressing for Thanksgiving dinner. Use sage as a tea when sick with a cough, it helps relieve that too.

Potato Pancakes
These are a favorite of my husband's. They are a lot like hashbrowns.
8 medium size potatoes, peeled and (6 grated, 2 either very finely grated or put through a juicer and added to the shredded)
Salt
1 egg
Everyone in Latvia may have a different recipe, this is about the way Janis taught me and the way I make them now. Cook like pancakes, in plenty of oil. Takes about 10 minutes for each batch, they need to be cooked through and nicely browned. Serve with sourcream or cottage cheese.
